Lot contains: (A) Imperial German WWI trench body armor (Sappenpanzer) consisting of four pieces retaining approximately 40-45% of its original field-gray painted finish, with freckling, wear, scratches, etc. Inside the main center piece is stenciled in black what appears to be a crown over a "B" and then a "2". All six horsehair pads are present in very good condition, and the web retaining straps are 50% broken through at the edge of the top plate. Thin aluminum wire was used to reinforce the mounting of the top of both straps as well as two additional mounting locations on the right strap. CONDITION: Overall good. (B) Imperial German WWI helmet armor plate (Stirnpanzer) retaining approximately 35% of its field-gray painted finish, with heavy patina, marks, and scrapes. Armor is stamped "171" on the lower right rim area. Plate is dented on the lower front (unknown as to how this happened) which rubs the front of the helmet, and on some areas of the rim is roughly ground. CONDITION: Overall good. (C) Imperial German WWI Model 1916 helmet shell retaining 20-25% of its original field-gray paint with lacquer present over many areas. While the maker code is illegible the size of "64" is present. Steel liner band is present. CONDITION: Overall good. WZ
