Lot contains: (A) Early "ground Rohm" SA dagger with a "E.P.&S., Solingen" marked blade. It is not a factory done "ground Rohm" inscription removal, as it was crudely removed, and appears to have been done with sand paper and a file. Overall the blade was heavily cleaned and exhibits moderate freckling, runner and scattered marks. Solid nickel fittings have a uniform moderate age patina, scattered marks, and the cross guard has the SA District marking of "NO" (Nordsee). Rosewood grip is very good with a couple of light dings, scratches, and a half inch area of damage with a piece missing near the cross guard. SA emblem has light to moderate damage, eagle has light wear, and both are original to the grip. Anodized scabbard retains 60-65% of its original brown finish, with 40-45% of its lacquer, with light to moderate freckling. Nickel plated steel fittings have a nice age patina throughout, with a couple of dings near the slightly crushed tip. Blade fits very tightly in the scabbard. CONDITION: Overall very good. (B) Early SA dagger with a "Koch & Rau" marked blade with heavy freckling, runner and scattered marks. Solid nickel fittings have a uniform moderate age patina, scattered marks, and the cross guard has the SA District marking of "SW" (Sudwest). Rosewood grip is in very good with light dings, scratches, a tiny chip near the cross guard, and a half inch chip missing near the upper cross guard on the back. SA emblem exhibits light to moderate damage, eagle is excellent, and both are original to the grip. Anodized scabbard is dull in color, retains 20-25% of its original brown finish, with freckling throughout. Plated nickel steel fittings have patina and freckling throughout, with scrapes and dings, with a crushed tip. CONDITION: Overall good plus. WZ
