German WWII brown leather officer overcoat with no visible markings. Brown leather exhibits heavy wear, damage, and scuffing. Overcoat is fully lined in cotton which exhibits heavy staining throughout with some areas of damage. Brown leather belt is included, but it does not appear to be original to the coat. Infantry Major shoulder boards appear to be aged reproductions and the "GD" ciphers (Grossdeutschland) are reproductions. Consignor provided a document which indicates coat is made by the Italian leather coat maker of "Roberto Capucci" between 1939 and 1943 for the Wehrmacht, based on the design features. While a maker mark was provided in the document it is not present on the coat. CONDITION: Overall fair to good. WZ
