Lot consists of two items. (A) 1880's pattern rectangular eagle sword belt plate. Post period marking on reverse “U.S. / Cav.” Mounted on an antique leather belt. Hasp secured by two rivets. CONDITION: Good to very good. (B) Colonial era wood drum canteen with wood hoops locked by tongues. Raised bung. Traces of thin old red paint. No carrying strap loops. See O’Donnell, Canteens, Plate 010 for a similar, identified Revolutionary War example. CONDITION: very good with small scattered worm holes overall. SR
