Very nice lot of plaques, patches, and Major General flag that are attributed to Lieutenant General Carson Abel Roberts, USMC. Roberts born in 1905 and joined the Marine Corps in 1929. In 1934, Roberts earned his wings and became a USMC aviator. He served in WWII, Korea, and accumulated a distinguished career during his time in the Marine Corps. He retired in 1964 while holding the rank of Lt. General. The memorabilia in this lot is mostly from the end of his military career. The lot consists of: (A) 1959 dated Plaque presented to then Major General Roberts as a token of friendship by Lt. General Kim Dae Shik who was the commandant of the ROK Marine Corps. (B) 1963 dated Plaque presented to Roberts from Kong Jung Shik who was a Major General in the ROK Marines. (C) 1963 dated plaque presented to Roberts by Brigadier General Kim Yong Kook. (D) Small felt cloth with 7 machine sewn patches measuring 15" x 12". The center patch is Marine Aircraft Group 11, which Carson served with during WWII. There are 4 loose patches including another MAC 11 patch, H&MS-11 patch, VMF-531 patch, VMF-314 patch. The largest patch measures 6". (E) Major General flag that measures approximately 52" x 38". (F) Miscellaneous items include a pair of NS Meyer LT. Col. clusters in original box and pieces of ephemera. All of these items are contained in a leather Marine Corps aviator bag with a leather name plate that reads " UC-45 J 051308 M.C.A.F New River". CONDITION: Plaques have some small scratches but are in excellent condition. Patches and bag are in excellent condition. The flag exhibits slight tarnishing but is on overall good condition. JD
