Lot consists of: A) Model 1917 combat helmet. The front is painted with a 2nd Battalion 5th Marines insignia with an Eagle Globe and Anchor insignia mounted on the 2nd Division star. Liner is present but wool crown pad is missing and chin strap is broken. CONDITION: Helmet exhibits much of its original brown paint. Painted insignia shows toning to the yellow square. Liner shows moderate wear. B) Model 1917 combat helmet. The front exhibiting a 2nd Battalion 5th Marines insignia above which is a punched hole intended for an Eagle Globe and Anchor emblem, now missing. Liner present but detached. Chin strap is broken. CONDITION: Helmet paint shows extensive wear, as does the painted insignia. DG
