Nice WWII-Korean War grouping ID'D to Joseph E. Ganci, who was a USMC aviation mechanic. Ganci enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1936 for four years, reenlisted and served in World War II, and later reenlisted to serve through the rest of World War II and into the post war years and even into the Korean War. The lot consists of war ration books, service certificates and discharge papers that detail Ganci's time in the Marines and assignments, several photos including a color portrait of Ganci in uniform, service medals, ribbon bars, an aviator's flight log book with entries from 1946-1950 that list Ganci as crew chief and flight mechanic for R5D-3s, R4D-6s, R5Cs, JRB-5s, and much more. The photos have nice content including Corsairs, PB4Y-2 Privateers, R5Ds, Ganci and his friends, and more. There is also a nice bullion flight jacket name tag, a post WWII dog tag, and a 1956 dated ID card. Lastly there are two beautiful patches, a VMF-322 "Fighting Cocks" jacket patch that measures 6" x 7", and a First Marine Air Wing Salvage patch that measures 5". CONDITION: Paper items exhibit folds, creases, and wear that is typical of old paper. Flight log book is in good condition. Photos are in good condition. The VMF-322 patch is missing a 2, but the patches are otherwise excellent. Overall good-excellent. JD
