This lot contains hundreds of photographs and negatives all related to the US Marine Corps. Most of the photos were taken during World War II and some were taken in Korea. There are 5 envelopes, 3 plastic bags, and several other miscellaneous photo groups. The photos and negatives range from basic to unique content including camp life, ships, marine antics, group photos, formations, and much more. The more interesting photos depict combat related content including destruction, tanks, destroyed equipment, bodies, POWs, war trophies, and much more. Several of the photo groups are official USMC photos that were mass produced and distributed to Marines. Many come with label sheets and are labeled "Set #1...Saipan" "Set #12...Peleliu" "Set #15...Iwo Jima" and so on. There are too many photos and negatives for an exact count but there are roughly 500-800 total. CONDITION: Most photos are clear and the negatives are crisp with no tears or folds. Some exhibit wear that is typical of old photos. Overall good-excellent. JD
