EDWARD BARNES & SONS U figure of a star S. Ribbon on blade face reads "THE REAL U star S KNIFE" below the ribbon are the words "HUNTERS COMPANION". 8" spear point blade, 12 - 3/4" overall. Handled in genuine stag with heavy brass full guard correct sheath bearing gold line decoration and gold U star S embossed in the leather. Nickel silver tip and throat. Complete with frog attachment. CONDITION: Very good. Blade has pitting, has been cleaned. This knife would appear to be American but was actually made in Sheffield England. c. 1833-1838. TN
