Pre-War Commercial Von Lengerke & Detmold Marked Mauser C-96 semi automatic pistol. Made circa 1905. Imported by "VON LENGERKE/& DETMOLD/NEW-YORK", marked on the left side of the frame. They were a large retailer of German made items including firearms. "(Crown) / U" proof on the left side of the frame. Top of the chamber is marked "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORFA / N". Matching serials on all visible parts, including the follower. Small ring style hammer. Round barrel with large blade front sight and rear tangent adjustable to 1000 meters. Period reblued finish. Lanyard stud and ring present. Slotted for a shoulder stock. "33" line wood grips, with both panels serial matching to the frame. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its reapplied finish with some light wear. There is some visible cleaned pitting on both sides of the frame. Grips have some light wear. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
