A beautiful pair of Nippon vases. Each vase stands 14” tall and features birds in flight set against a blue and lavender background, with a lake and trees seen in the distance. The vases have a pair of elephant heads with rings hanging from the trunks, and the neck of the vases are further decorated with a band of gold and enamel. A band of diamond pattern encircles the bottom of the vases. The underside of both is stamped “Imperial Nippon Hand Painted”. Both vases are in excellent condition, free of cracks or chips, with some loss of gold to the elephant heads and rims of both vases. Dimensions: (each) 14” tall by7” wide by 7” deep.
