Circa 1915. 5 - 1/2" round barrel with blade front sight, 1000 meter tangent adjustable rear sight. "WAFFENFABRIK" / "MAUSER" / "OBERNDORF A/N" over chamber, serial number on offset flat, "(Crown) / U" proof on left flat. Early Mauser proof on underside of chamber. Right side of frame marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER / OBERNDORF A. NECKAR". Full or partial numbers observed on bolt stop, bolt, locking block, follower, rear of hammer, frame, subframe, sear link. Grips are not numbered, left grip looks like it may have been at one point but is now illegible. CONDITION: Good. Bluing has flaked and faded throughout, retaining approximately half of the color with the balance a pleasing mixture of dove grey of chocolate oxidation. Grips have numerous scratches, chips, and bruises throughout. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and some light frosting. EMW
