An absolutely gorgeous and rare leaded glass table lamp by Suess. The leaded glass shade is an astounding 27” in diameter. It features an all over water lily pattern with a soft white background with green and yellow streaks, with numerous water lilies in the foreground, in shades of streaked pinks and yellows, further decorated with streaked green leaves. The shade is finished in a rich brown patina. Shade in excellent condition, free of any missing, broken, or loose pieces of glass, with a small number of scattered and stable hairline heat cracks. The shade rests on an equally impressive patinated bronze, telescopic Suess base. The three-socket base is finished in brown patina with strong verdigris accents. The base features four cat paws, which rest on a round pedestal, and a telescopic upper assembly. At its lowest, the base stands 28” tall, and can be extended up to 38”. Retains original Hubbell sockets and acorn pulls, as well as original floral heat cap in patinated bronze. A truly impressive lamp by one of the most exciting early 20th century lamp makers.
