A Faberge hardstone nephrite frog on white onyx stand, c. 1900. Depicting realistically carved green serpentine frog with diamond eyes set in silver, clinging to his marble stand. In very good condition, commensurate with age, with a small chip on marble base. "Frog on a stand" is listed in "The Faberge Menagerie", Philip Wilson publisher, copyright 2003, pg 191."Even though they were carved with remarkable naturalism, amphibians served as amusing grotesqueries for Faberge's parasol handles, hand seals, and decorative stands."
