Model 1860 Cavalry Saber marked "US / 1865 / A.G.M.” on the obverse ricasso and “C. ROBY / W.CHELMSFORD / MASS.” on the reverse. In standard configuration with slightly curved blade, brass 3-band guard, and leather-wrapped wood grip that is held nicely together by brass wire. Brass guard has been bent down to protect knuckles. Pommel is stamped “46”. Complete with steel scabbard. CONDITION: The blade is bright and exhibits scattered freckling throughout its length. Hilt exhibits a pleasant patina with blemishes from age and handling. Grip exhibits patches of leather loss with loose wire. Scabbard exhibits blemishes including dents, old oil, and scattered marks from age.
