"No dash" Model 17 manufactured circa 1959. Polished blue finish with case hardened target trigger and hammer. Classic pinned round barrel with serrated matte rib, ramped partridge front sight, and white outline micrometer click rear sight. Square butt K frame. 2-piece diamond checkered walnut target stocks inset with S&W medallions. Complete with matching plain 2-piece blue pasteboard box dated on the inside of lid "JAN 23 1962". PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the original blued finish is retained throughout with a turn line and a few scattered marks. Case colors remain very strong. Grips have a few impressions but otherwise are very fine. Fine bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics. Box has some expected edgewear and a small tear at one end of the lid.
