Made by Colt Firearms Company in 1858. 7 -1/2" blued octagon barrel with German silver blade front sight. Barrel has Colt's Hartford address on top with Young-style floral scroll with animal head scenes on both left and right panels. Case-hardened finished frame with full coverage of Young-style floral engraving. Blued Naval scene matching serial numbered cylinder; silver-plated brass grip and trigger guard. Factory ivory 1-piece grip with all matching numbers and all correct markings. Comes in period-looking, fitted, velvet lined hardwood case with slots for accessories (missing). PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Overall 80% original factory barrel finish with areas worn to plum brown from handling and holstering. 10% fading case colors with sharp engraving. Good grips with old patina finish and some cracking at butt. Good mechanics; bore with visible rifling and markings and some pitting. Case in good condition with lid cracked. A very desirable Colt.
