Originally made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1941 for James Lowe. This fine shotgun features 2 blued factory 28" Winchester Proof steel barrels with "Custom Built by Winchester" rib roll die mark on matted rib, ejectors, and bead sights with floral breech engraving. Barrel set number (A) are choked WS-1 and WS-2, chambers measure 2 - 3/4". (B) are choked Full and Mod with 2 - 3/4" chambers. Blued finish boxlock action with custom No. 6 full coverage floral engraving with pointing dogs on side panels and pheasant on the bottom. Automatic safety and factory gold plated selective single trigger with blued floral engraved trigger guard with original owner's initials in gold; serial number under opening lever. Border checkered/carved Circassian walnut pistol grip stock with checkered side panels and carved panel border diamond tails in 21-B style with period leather faced oversized rubber recoil pad, plain blued steel grip cap, and single matching checkered factory beavertail forearm with roller latch release. Comes in a fitted Abercrombie and Fitch case with A&F-marked accessories. Cody Research does not specify all options, but all work appears to be factory. CONDITION: Overall 95% original barrel finish with insignificant handling marks. Barrels have slight case wear. 90% action blue with sharp markings, receiver starting to dull in carry areas. Good wood with 90% original finish, small handling marks, and sharp checkering. Good mechanics with tight lock up and lever way to the right. Mirror bores. A very eye-catching shotgun with great specifications.
