Manufactured 1945. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight with "P" proof ahead of rear sight. Left side with "REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.". Barrel with "P" proof on left lug, "F" proof on right. Frame with "G" proof near disconnector. Other proofs include "FJA" on left side of frame, "P" proof near magazine release, "2" on left side of trigger guard, "G" and "X" on right side of trigger guard. Typical US Property marking, model designation, serial number, and crossed cannon proof. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, thick tab safety, checkered magazine release, short stamped trigger, long A1 grip safety, arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Keyes grips with thick reinforcing rings. Full blue magazine with "O" on baseplate lip. Housed in a kraft box with ink stap on top indicating contents as pistol and 2 magazines. One spare magazine in the mummy wrap. CONDITION: Excellent as refinished and partially rebuilt at an arsenal. Retains virtually all of the parkerized finish with some silvering to high edges from use. Some areas of oxidation visible under the newer parkerization, most noticeable on dust cover. Proofs are crisp. Mechanically fine, bore has strong, slightly softened, rifling with frosting throughout. Box is very good with some age related distress and rubs but solid and whole.
