Matching full or partial serial numbers observed on adjacent flat over chamber, bolt carrier, magazine follower, bolt stop, frame, subframe, hammer (which also has intertwined NS for New Safety), both grip scales, locking block, and sear. Typical Red 9 configuration with small ring, barleycorn front sight, V notch rear sight with sliding elevator adjustable to 500 meters. "(Crown) / U" proof on left side of faceted section around chamber, "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N" over chamber, with "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A NECKAR" on right side of frame. Grips with red "9" painted. Lanyard loop on fixed stud. With stock/holster with "306" on iron, and with leather rig with "C. HOLSTER & Co / MUNCHEN / 1916"; cleaning rod slot vacant, and filled with a pencil. CONDITION: Very good, with the majority of the bluing retained, with some distension about proofs from application of stamp. Areas of thinning throughout, with dove grey and some brown mossing coming through. Fire bluing started to tone, with some mossing to edges. Hammer with areas of cleaned oxidation. Stock is good with a dry appearance, leather is good with some handling marks, crazing, and edge distress. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling.
