Per an included 2010 dated factory letter this rifle originally shipped April 8, 1884 with a 26" round barrel and was returned to the factory by ECMA Co. in July 1894 to be rechambered in .45-75. Rifle currently sports a blued 28" round barrel chambered in .45-75 with ivory bead half moon front sight and "1876" marked ladder rear sight graduated to 1000 yards. Blued receiver with sliding dust cover. 2-piece plain walnut stocks with blued nose cap and tool trap butt plate. CONDITION: Fine. Rifle retains the majority of its factory blue with areas of thinning, toning, scratching, and some cleaned oxidation spots. Magazine tube and mounts have largely faded to brown patina. Traces of case colors evident on the lever and hammer. Elevator displays an attractive mottled mellow golden patina. Stocks are very good with scattered dings and nicks. Bore is strong and bright with some cleaned mild oxidation spots. Crisp mechanics.
