Full or partial number observed on bolt stop, firing pin carrier carrier, over the chamber, frame, subframe, sear, magazine baseplate, locking block, rear of hammer (with intertwined NS for New Safety), and inside of grips. Grips are force matched and the "9"s are not executed to the same standard as original Red 9s. Other features include barleycorn front sight, V notch rear sight adjustable to 1000 meters, small ring, later trigger assembly, long extractor, two lug firing pin, non-rotatable lanyard loop. With a combination stock holster, unnumbered, with a "Mauser" stamp ahead of hinge, and leather slipcover for cleaning rod and pouch, stamped on back "G.J. Ensink & Co. / Ohrdruf / 1917". CONDITION: Metal is essentially smooth mottled dove grey, with traces of bluing in the most protected areas, and with some soft browning. Some fire bluing on rear sight slide. Grips with some chips and handling marks, revarnished, and force matched. Stock very good as refreshed with iron scrubbed. Leather with some crazing and creases. Mechanically fine, bore with defined rifling and even frosting. Stock does not close with gun inserted, and attaches securely, but has significant horizontal wobble.
