The Cheyenne was Remington’s sixth sculpture. The lost wax casted sculpture features a Cheyenne galloping at speed. The warrior is wearing only a loincloth and moccasins; he leans forward clutching his lance and quirt. The horse has ears back tail flowing and all four hooves off the ground. The horse and rider are being suspended by a buffalo robe saddle that trails off the airborne horse to the prairie designed oval base. The flowing robe allows the entire sculpture to be cast in one piece. CONDITION: Very good.
