Between 1960 and 1969, the US Airforce acquired a significant quantity of Smith & Wesson Model 15 revolvers for guards, officers, and others in need of a sidearm, many finding their way to Vietnam. This example was manufactured in 1965 and is correctly marked "U.S.A.F." on the left side of the frame. Revolver is of standard configuration for the Airforce guns with commercial blued finish, pinned 4" barrel, ramped front sight, micrometer click rear, wide target trigger, and diamond checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions. It is accompanied by a 2-piece blue Smith & Wesson box without end label and a 1966 dated black leather military Bucheimer military drop holster, belt, ammo pouches, and handcuff case with cuffs. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the factory applied blue is retained with mild wear and handling, especially evident at the muzzle. A turn line present. Trigger and hammer display bright case colors. Grips have light nicks but are otherwise very good. Crisp, bright bore. Fine mechanics. Box and rig are very good overall.
