This is a “work-in progress” rewelded and Fleming registered World War II Savage Arms Corporation manufactured stripped receiver. No other parts are present in this lot. Remnants of original markings discernible on the right side of the receiver with added manufacturer’s serial number over “FLEMING FIREARMS C’VILLE, OK USA” with second identical serial number at lower right edge. This receiver was clearly in two pieces and professionally rewelded horizontally together. The weld both inside and outside has been smoothed out, but the threading where the barrel screws into the trunnion has not yet been rethreaded. One can see the bead of weld and the received exterior dimensions appear to be in spec. Electronic NFA registry indicates “FLEMING,WILLIAM DBA FLEMING FIREARMS” as the manufacturer. PROVENANCE: From the machine gun collection of William “Happiness is a Warm Machine Gun” Fleming. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is a mixture of gray and brown patina. Once one has acquired the appropriate parts, and with the appropriate effort, this could become a very fast-firing machine gun as was found on the Dauntless aircraft during WWII. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2025-09-120.
