This is a German made sporting rifle that features a full octagon barrel with ramp front sight, filled rear slot, and a Lyman peep sight on a Hoffman Arms stamped base. Safety missing. Made in Essen, Germany with a Guss Stahl barrel and so stamped along with a panel on barrel that reads Hoffman Arms Co. but definitely not made by them. The walnut stock has a checkered pistol grip and cap, a contrasting stock tip, straight comb with roll over cheek piece, and a period solid red pad that was covered. The floor plate and trigger guard are profusely engraved in German oak leaf style with gold applied Bear and Elk. CONDITION: Fine. Maintains the majority of custom applied blue finish with strong legends. Stock is excellent with minor impressions. The bore is well defined with some residue. Mechanically sound.
