This beautiful gun was given to Marty Huber when he retired as Colt's only Historian Emeritus, receiving that honor in 1988. (there is an 8x10 photo with 1988 dated Colt letter notifying him of this award. The factory letter further states that this gun is finished in full royal blue with fluted cylinder and ivory grips. Letter states that gun was engraved by Steve Kamyk with type B Helfricht style and gold wedding bands on muzzle, breech and cylinder. The left ivory grip panel is scrimshawed MHS. The back strap has an engraved facsimile autograph of Huber. Letter states gun given to Huber on June 17, 1993 by Colt and friends. The display case has inscribed brass plaque "MARTIN S HUBER HISTORIAN EMERITUS 1936-1993. Also included are the original box and three framed photographs. One of Huber holding a Colt in 1986, one is an autographed picture of Ron Wagner, Marty Huber and Kathleen Hoyt, three successive historians and one of Huber circa 1950-60s. PROVENANCE: Ex. Collection of David and Lynette Grunberg. CONDITION: Excellent. Shows as new with no signs of having been fired.
