Dovetail lump barrels with a white bead front sight on a solid matte rib. Gold inlaid legends read "Made to Order A.H. Fox" on right barrel and "Chromox · Fluid · Steel". Engraved with 2 - 1/2" triangles of Acanthus scroll with characteristic FE grade gold lightning bolts over the chambers. Square rib extension engraved with acanthus scroll en suite. Scott style square crossbolt. Underside of barrels with "CT. SHOTGUN MFG. / NEW BRITAIN, CT. U.S.A." on forearm loop platform, barrel flats with Fox proof, serial number, and designations for a 28 gauge FE with 2 - 3/4" chambers. Flat bottomed beavertail forearm with modifed point pattern checkering with fleur-de-lis intrusions about a Deely style latch release, with floral scrollwork and geometrics on exterior iron. Interior iron with patent dates and serial number and FE designation inlaid in gold. Small sized case colored boxlock action with classic FE engraivng, including golden pointers, geometric hinge pins, and a vignette of a fox and a partridge on the bottom, with supporting scrollwork throughout. Double beaded fences, double triggers, and automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid ahead of slide. Trigger guard with a vignette of a woodcock with gold wire work and engraving en suite. Long tang with serial number inlaid in gold. Reddish walnut stock with checkered side panels with fleur-de-lis intrusions and modified wave pattern checkering with fluer de lis intrusions about the straight wrist. Butt checkered en suite. Housed in a leather wrapped case with leather tabs, wine colored interior compartmentalized for gun with pair snapcaps, two piece cleaning rod, oil bottle, patches, wallet with mop, jag, and brush, factory tag describing this gun and configuration. Leather tabbed canvas slip protects case. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of the factory finishes on barrel and forearm, with some very minor handling marks and rubs, a spot or two of silvering where forearm contacts barrels. Action excellent with vibrant case colors only barely starting to fade and thin at sharpest edges. Stock good ,with some minor scuffs and impressions, but with significant cracqelure to the finish throughout. Mechanically fine, bores with some mild firing residue. Ejectors functional but a little out of time. Case and accessories excellent. Slip with some scuffs and discoloration from age.
