Circa 1670. German. Leaf-shaped blade of diamond section with a tapering four-sided socket. A good touch mark is visible at the base of the socket, depicting crossed hammers within a stylized shield and three marks ascending above the shield. Wooden shaft appears to be original, going from four-sided to round. Iron studs are embedded on the edges of the flattened portion, giving way to carved knots descending to the base of the shaft. Three quarters of the upper shaft are covered with leather thongs in a decorative diamond pattern, secured by nails, all of which to allow for a better grip. Steel portion has moderate to heavy pitting overall and is covered with a light coat of fresh red rust, which can be easily cleaned. The wooden staff and leather are in very good condition for their age.

Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 84" L.
BOAR SPEAR.
