17" fashion doll with head incised "4" and although not otherwise marked, it is a face widely attributed to Gauthier. The bisque socket head has blue glass eyes, slightly smiling mouth with shaded lips, painted lashes and brows, pierced earlobes, and swivels on a separate bisque shoulder plate. Shoulder plate is in turn mounted to a very nice white kid leather body with gusset joints at elbows, hips, and knees, also with individually stitched fingers. Doll still has an elaborate dark blond mohair wig in braids, most likely original, over a cork pate and has been well costumed in a cobalt blue silk two piece dress with ribbon braid trim. She also has antique underwear and a very nice pair of antique red leather heeled boots with side buttons. Completing the outfit is a very nice woven bonnet with feathers and cloth flowers that are well coordinated with the rest of the costume. This doll is in very nice condition and is ready for display.
