Manufactured 1849. Features include 7-1/2" barrel, six-shot, .44 caliber, single action, oval cylinder stops, and square back trigger guard. Barrel stamped address "Sam L. Colt New York City". All matching numbers except wedge not numbered. Colt's patent and U.S. stamp on left side of frame. No cylinder scene. All metal is grey patina with some fine light pitting. Original grips are very good, chipped at toe. Fine lock up. Strong bore but dirty. Muzzle rounded at end from holster wear. Good representative piece of a very rare revolver.
