C. 1886–1922. A silver and leather Holuska watch cane featuring a silver knob handle bearing silversmith maker’s marks and Viennese hallmarks. The shaft is constructed of textured leather over a wooden core, sewn with a full-length seam. A round glass-covered watch face is set into the shaft and marked “Patent”. The hands are adjusted by a small wheel on the reverse side, while the watch winds by turning the handle. The watch is currently ticking and in working order. (The Holuska name and serial number are typically found on the internal works, accessible by removing the small screws.) The cane includes mild patches of leather scraping from typical usage and natural patina to the knob and ferrule. Length: 35".
