Humphris & Co. (General Merchandise & Ranch Supplies) check, Marfa, Presidio County, Texas signed by infamous Texas Ranger B. (Bass) L. Outlaw. Dated March 2, 1892. Paid to the order of T. F. Tucker for $15.00. At the time Bass wrote this check, he was still a Texas Ranger. He became a Special Ranger in the Frontier Battalion, on February 10, 1893, and traded his deputy U.S. Marshal badge for that of a Ranger. On April 5, 1894, Outlaw created a disturbance at a bordello in El Paso, Texas, which led to his demise along with another Ranger that Bass shot out of anger. Great piece of western ephemera with Texas Ranger association.
Condition: Very good.
