Third Reich Heer dagger with a "E. Pack & Sohne" marked blade with light runner marks. Blade is etched on both sides in a scroll pattern, with a Heer eagle on the main side. The etching is thought to be non-era by experienced collectors, and was likely done postwar. Nickel plated fittings retain approximately 85% of their original finish with patina and staining, and the trylon grip is intact. Scabbard retains 65-70% of its original finish with scattered areas of freckling and staining to approximately 35%. An undamaged protepee is attached. CONDITION: While the etched blade is mint, the etching is highly questionable and thought to have been done postwar. Fittings are excellent and scabbard is very good. Overall excellent. Morphy Auctions will not guarantee the authenticity of the blade's etching.
