Civil War M1840 light artillery saber, termed Type 2, without recessed counterguard. Standard configuration with ricasso faintly marked by Ames and "U.S. / C.E.W. / 1864". Blade remains bright with scattered blemishes. Hilt with dark patina, intact leather wrap, and tight wire. Complete with iron scabbard with 2 carry rings that features a dark patina. CONDITION: Good.
