Rare example of a large training cutaway model of a M1919-A4 machine gun. Like the 1918A2 Browning automatic rifle training cutaway in this sale, these M1919-A6 trainers are 200% scale fully functioning cutaway models of the original service weapons. This example measures approximately 78" long. The training model displays the internal parts of the machine gun and every part is a properly functioning copy of the real version. This includes springs which were reduced in strength in order to make the parts easy to operate, while exhibiting the correct function of the 1/1 scale machine gun. The training model is complete with its original wood base and metal National Guard plate. This example was designed by the Office of Naval Research's Special Devices Center, which is marked on the metal ID plate. Also included is a small ammunition belt containing 15 black plastic rounds. CONDITION: This example exhibits handling marks as well as some scratches and chips in the paint. The wood base exhibits chips and paint loss. All mechanical components function correctly when cycled by hand. Overall Very Good. JLD
