39-1/2’’ full octagon barrel .54 caliber percussion. Features a full under rib, two retaining thimbles, and full buck horn rear sight. Barrel is not signed. The lock plate is lightly engraved, stamped “Warranted” but maker mark is not readable. Metal is a dark brown patina with light brown erosion. Striped maple stock with one retaining edge. Brass nose cap, trigger guard, butt plate, and heel plate. Wood has a 2’’ crack on left side plate otherwise very good to excellent. Very good bore. Nice early original mid-19th century sporting rifle.
