(A) FACTORY ENGRAVED ADAMS & TRANTER PATENT DOUBLE ACTION ONLY PERCUSSION REVOLVER RETAILED BY J. BLANCH & SON.
4th model with the single trigger, octagonal barrel, dovetailed bead front sight, and one piece checkered walnut grips with metal pommel. The right side of frame is stamped "ADAMS & TRANGERS PATENT N17786T". There are the usual various British proof marks. "Tranters Patent" is stamped on left side of frame. Left side of barrel has the mounted bullet seater. Revolver is double action only. Gun exhibits light English scroll engraving about the frame. Top of frame is stamped with the famed London dealer "J. BLANCH & SON GRACESHUCRCH ST. LONDON". The period English oak case has a Blanch trade label inside the lid. The case houses a Tranter stamped two cavity brass bullet mold, a small bag flask, a wood handle turn screw and nipple wrench, a wooden clean rod, and an Eley cap tin. CONDITION: Fine. Right side of frame and barrel retain about 80% blue with some flaking. The left side of frame retains about 20% blue with balance flaked and bit of salt pepper on upper left frame. The cylinder retains majority of the dulling blue. Guard is patina. Grips are excellent. Mechanically sound with a well defined bore showing minor abrasion.
