Lot consists of: (A) Springfield Model 1863 rifled musket manufactured by Whitney Arms from spare parts after the Civil War. Rifled barrel with correct rear flip sight and blade front dated at tang 1863. Percussion lock marked 1863 with Eagle and Eagle marked bolster. Walnut full military stock with 3-barrel bands and original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Rifle has been completely refinished with added blue on barrel and lock. Stock has been cleaned with Whitney Arms stamps on stock. Good bore and mechanics. (B) 1841 "Mississippi Rifle" made by Robbins and Lawrence of Windsor, Vermont between 1848-1853 with approximately 15,000 made. Percussion lock marked "Robbins and Lawrence US" and dated 1850 below Windsor, Vermont. Walnut full military stock with brass hardware. Rifled barrel with rear flip style sight and blade front. Original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Gun has been cleaned. Barrel and lock retain traces of original finish. Shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
