13-1/2" barrel, .60 bore flintlock. Offered is a large and ornate Belgium flintlock pistol circa 1700. Features an octagon to round barrel with an integral front sight set 2" back from muzzle to center. Neither the lock or barrel exhibit any proof marks and it has a delicately carved one piece full length stock with the piano finish. There is a brass relief decorative plaque on back of wrist with a bust. An extremely large brass pummel with a grotesque face, a relief cut Florentine type left side plate(banana style), has an intricate brass trigger guard with relief cut images. The rear brass thimble has a cast face (original owner) and has the original ramrod held by two thimbles. There are some minor stock repairs that blend perfectly with the balanced and look more like grain than repairs. The rod has a horn tip, beautiful and ornate early eighteenth century flintlock that has a look of royalty about it.
