Caliber .50 rimfire, Barrel length 20’’. This carbine was manufactured by the Providence Tool Company in Rhode Island from 1866 to 1871. There is a cartouche on left side of stock that appears to be a “W.C.” as found on all foreign contracts. Left side of frame has the maker legend. Single leaf folding rear site. Metal finish is a mix of blue and brown having been refinished with pitting showing through. Walnut stocks with added finish are good with a 4” crack on the forearm and numerous dings. Strong bore, fine action.
