(A) RARE ENGRAVED BREVETTE LEFAUCHEUX DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER WITH BAYONET.
Manufactured in Belgium circa 1870 and marked "E. LEFAUCHEUX / INVR BREVETTE". Round barrel with tall front sight and turned down muzzle to accept a baronet. Frame engraved throughout with vine motifs. Checkered walnut grips carved with foliate panels near the top. Complete with a well-fitting fullered spontoon blade bayonet with checkered walnut grip scales, carved in the similar manner as the revolver grips. CONDITION: Very good overall. Metal components display a mottled gray patina. Engraving and markings remain sharp and legible. Grips are very fine with sharp checkering and carving, the bayonet grips somewhat crisper. Strong, bright bore with some mild oxidation spots. Fine mechanics.
