Manufactured in 1861. This excellent condition 1860 Army is very unusual. It was made at the outset of the Civil War with a characteristic blue finish. It bears no inspector marks on the wrist and no military in marks on the barrel, frame or trigger guard. Only an "M" on the left side if the trigger guard which is probably a Colt Factory sub inspector. Very fine condition. Barrel retains most of its original Colt factory military finish. Four screw frame had bright case hardening with only minor fading on recoil shield. Cylinder has most of its bluing, slightly browning on non-rebated portion of cylinder. Back strap has nearly all its original bluing with only slight fading. Feather still visible at top. Grips are excellent with military style oil finish and raised grain, only a few minor marks. Pin safeties are slightly worn. Case colors on hammer fading to brown. All numbers match. A rare and unusual variation of the four screw Army in excellent condition.
CORRECTION: barrel length is 8"
