Six-shot barrel cluster with English proofs. Frame, recoil shield and bar hammer are finely engraved with scrolls and borders. Engraved push-on safety. Trigger guard finely engraved en suite. Finely checkered walnut figured walnut butt with piecrust carving. Surmounting buttcap which is finely engraved with engraved cap trap. CONDITION: Good, mostly smooth metal. Frame very good with no major erosion and crisp, deep cut engraving. Figured walnut butt rates excellent with few, if any minor marks. Red velvet lined mahogany case with split ring in lid. Sykes flask with some original finish. Patch cutter, turn screw, nipple wrench, and bullet mold. Case also with label in lid, three half moons surmounted by a bird and the motto "pacifici Henry Fitzsimmons". Irish weapons from this period are scarce and this is a particularly good pepperbox. MZ
