Model 1816 musket manufactured by Springfield. Flint lock marked with "(Eagle) / US" and at the rear "Springfield / 1819". Musket style barrel with "P" proof at rear and bayonet lug. Walnut stock with added checkering and banner German silver plaque with " H.G. McRae 4th Co N.G." Iron hardware and steel ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has faded to a silvery patina with some light pitting. Wood has handling marks and usage dings. Good mechanics and dark bore. Unique historical gun in need of more research. DLM
