Factory letter states this gun was shipped July 28, 1877 to H. Ahrens & Co., Boston and London. It was shipped with 7" barrel, butt swivel, and smooth walnut grips in a shipment of 243 units. Made without the Russian markings. The frame is stamped with the Japanese naval anchor and two wavy lines. Matching numbers on cylinder, latch and barrel. Features a top break action, frame knuckle, trigger guard sash hook, lanyard and nickel finish. It is interesting to note that the factory letter does not denote the finish, and this gun was offered in both blued and nickel. 5,000 of this model were ordered. Soft patina. Indexes fine with a strong bore.
