Western Pennsylvania flintlock pistol signed "A. Joy" for Andrew Joy of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who worked from 1838 to 1858. Silver inlay on wrist is signed in script "A.Joy". 8" round .54 caliber rifled barrel with bead front sight and notched rear sight with starburst engraving on top of barrel. Replacement flint lock with single trigger (most likely percussion originally). Curly maple stock with brass hardware including western Pennsylvania style bell flower finial triggerguard and thumbnail entry pipe. Comes with hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Gun has been converted to flintlock at some point with new lock screws. Wood has been refinished with buttstock repaired during the day with brass strip. Dark bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
