Barrel length 20", .38-40 caliber. Factory letter. This special order Winchester Deluxe 1873 was shipped from the factory March 14, 1896 as follows: Type: Rifle; Caliber: .38; Barrel Type: Round; Barrel Length: 20"; Trigger: Plain; Plain, pistol grip (This rifle has the deluxe checkered walnut pistol grip stock with ebony inset.); Sights: Lyman front and rear sights (globe and tang), no rear barrel sight; 1/2 Magazine (button); Case Hardened. This beautiful, little deluxe short rifle remains in all original factory condition. Barrel retains approximately 90% barrel blue mixing/patina, with razor sharp legends. Frame retains traces of original color with pattern evident. The checkered walnut stocks are proud to metal, near mint, and lovely grain, with standard rifle butt plate. Strong rifle bore with some very minor abrasion. Extremely fine Deluxe Model 1873 rifle with condition.
