Model 1877 Lightning double action revolver manufactured by Colt in 1901. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT. D.A. 38", with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame is fitted with a 6" barrel and is mounted with 2-piece checkered Colt logo hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, as well as on the bottom of the rear grip strap. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their original blue finish, with the balance exhibiting a mottled gray patina with light spots of surface oxidation overall. Bright bore, exhibiting a small spots of pitting, some light surface oxidation, as well as well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from handling and storage, with the right panel exhibiting heavy smoothing overall. MLW
