Manufactured from 1918 to 1920. This revolver was shipped from the Colt Factory to the Commanding Officer of Springfield Armory on 1-31-1918. There were 8,600 weapons in this shipment. This U.S. Martially marked six shot double action was built on the New Service frame. Features fixed sights, blued finish, smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. Bottom of barrel stamped "United States Property" with inspector marks, butt is stamped "U.S. Army Model 1917" along with military number 27929. Smooth two piece walnut grips. Inspector stamp on left on left side of frame. Revolver retains approximately 30% of the dull military style blue finish mixed with brown patina and age freckling. Perfect action and strong clean bore. Comes in a period flap holster with hanger; not marked.
